SVPP

Silicon Valley Pet Project (Non-Profit) is dedicated to saving shelter pets in San Jose. It works in partnership with three local animal rescues: San Jose Animal Care Center; TriCity Animal Shelter; and County of Santa Clara Animal Services. SVPP focuses its efforts on senior and special needs pets in addition to saving shelter animals. Donations can make a difference for the SVPP San Jose shelter dogs and cats.

Services offered by SVACA

Two local animal shelters joined forces to form one large organization. SVACA provides 24-hour animal care services to Mountain View and Palo Alto, and also works with the Palo Alto animal control office. SVACA's new facility is much more modern than the Palo Alto facility which was built in the 1970s. It requires costly upgrades. Both shelters focus on the same geographical area. With the new SVACA contract, they will have more time to concentrate on animal-related criminality.

FAQ

What are three things that you need to consider before getting a cat?

These questions should be asked before you purchase a cat.

  1. Does the cat have any health issues?
  2. Will my cat eat all the food I have prepared?
  3. Do I want to have a cat because I like cats? Or do I just want one pet?

What should I do before buying an exotic animal?

You need to be careful before you decide to buy an exotic pet. The first thing you need to do is decide whether you want to keep the animal as a pet or if you want to sell it for money. If you're keeping it as a pet, then make sure you have enough space for it. Also, you need to determine how much time and effort it will take. Although it takes time to care and love an animal, it is well worth the effort.

If you want to sell the animal you must find someone who is willing to buy it. It is important that anyone who purchases your animal understands how animals are cared for. Also, make sure that you don't overfeed the animal. This could lead to health problems down the line.

If you are considering exotic pets, you should ensure that you thoroughly research them. Many websites have information on many species of pets. Avoid falling for any scams.

What are the responsibilities of a pet owner?

A pet owner must love his/her pet unconditionally. They should also provide for their basic needs such as food, water, shelter, etc.

They should also teach them how to behave properly. The pet owner must not neglect or abuse it.

He should also be responsible enough and able to take care of it.

How To

How to teach a Cat To Use The Litter Box

They are great for reducing waste from your pet, but not all cats like them. They are too small, or even wrong, for cats to feel comfortable in. In fact, they could end up spilling the waste all over the place and just leave it there.

These tips will help you make the most of teaching your cat to use a litter box.

  1. The box should have enough room for your cat to stand straight inside the box without having them crouch.
  2. Place it in a place where your cat is most likely to be outside. If that doesn't happen, you can try placing it in a room with an outside door.
  3. Give your cat water as often as possible while he goes through his usual routine of toilet breaks. It will also help to keep him hydrated and less stressed about the box.
  4. If your cat is used to living outdoors, avoid sudden movements or noises when you introduce the box to him.
  5. Once he becomes comfortable with it, reward him by giving praise when he uses the box correctly. He might be tempted to receive treats as a reward. However, these should not be given until he has finished his business.
  6. You shouldn't force your cat to use the litter box.
  7. Be patient! It can take several months before your cat is able to use the box consistently.
  8. Your veterinarian should be contacted immediately if you notice any behavior changes in your cat, including aggression towards other animals or humans. This could be a sign of a serious condition such as a kidney disease or infection in the urinary tract.
  9. Remember to clean up after your cat every day, including around the box.
